THE VIVISECTORS – (SET TIME: 8:00 PM)

The Vivisectors are a psychedelia-surf band, originally from Russia, but who have recently relocated to Brooklyn, NY. The band has toured the U.S. East Coast yearly since 2009 and have finally decided to spend a bit more time in the states this time around. The Vivisectors started out as a solo project of it’s founder Mike “Vivisector” Antipow and has since grown to a four piece tight knit ensemble that includes Ivan Antipow (bass), Artem Upirev and New York native Mike Costarella. The Vivisector’s music can go from slow dark doom tunes reminiscent of the Gulag tunes of Mother Russia to in your face metal-sounding rock n’ roll that get’s the audience pumping it’s fists. Best of all, it’s almost all instro-mental, so no translations needed. The music speaks for itself and it may even yell on occasion. The Vivisectors started as a one man instro band and has since become famous for their Gulag Tunes, combining sunny surf music and Russian prison songs. They keep the dark side of rock’n'roll alive and current.

DOUBLE DOWN – (SET TIME: 9:00 PM)

From the classic lounge stylings of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, to fun twists on popular modern hits, Double Down plays the songs you know and love. The band’s original style fuses together their fresh, bold talents with a tribute to the songs of yesteryear.

Double Down gives the Rat Pack a swinging update for the new millennium. Their electrifying performance, tight sound and musical expertise allow them to move from hot jump-swing numbers to poignant ballads without missing a beat.

In addition to the old standards, Double Down dives into the songbook of today, bringing a unique twist to contemporary classics. From Billy Joel to Motorhead, from Nirvana to Usher, Double Down brings a classy lounge attitude to anything they get their hands on. Never content to rest on their laurels, Double Down is constantly adding new songs to their repertoire so every show stays fresh and their audience is always entertained.

Vivisectors Gulag Tunes

The Vivisectors’ Gulag Tunes live concert tour dates – Tour starts at Otto’s on Dec. 1 at Unsteady Freddie’s Surf Shindig and ends when they leave the US bleeding from our collective ears!

This is the third time The Vivisectors have brought their amazing gulag surf sounds to this country, the first time being in 2009. Below is a list of shows that will be updated as we book more:
